What is the University of Plymouth Choral Society?
The University of Plymouth Choral Society (UoPCS) is one of the largest community choirs in Plymouth. It has a long affiliation with the University of Plymouth through support from The Arts Institute (formerly Peninsula Arts) rehearsing on the main site of the University of Plymouth campus in the Sherwell Centre, North Hill. The choral society supports the university’s annual carol concert
Who sings in the choir?
Members are from the community in and around Plymouth, including students and staff from the University of Plymouth.
Membership is free to all students.
What do we do?
We give three concert performances per year mainly of a classical repertoire, accompanied by an orchestra and professional soloists. Each concert is performed in the Minster Church of St Andrew in the centre of Plymouth.
When do we rehearse?
We rehearse on Tuesday evenings from 19:30 to 21:30 in the Sherwell Centre from September to May during university term times.
